Donald Trump and his far-right group, Project 2025—which consists of dozens of former Trump administration members—are determined to eliminate a woman’s right to control her own body.
Yet, over 60% of the country supports a woman’s right to make her own medical decisions. This right, often referred to as the “right to choose,” allows a woman to decide what happens to her body medically. It’s a right that men inherently possess. It’s also a right that citizens of various states have voted to protect since the conservative Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade.
If you believe in this right, which was the law under Roe v. Wade for almost 50 years, protecting both women and fetuses when appropriate, please consider the following before casting your vote in the 2024 Presidential election:
- Trump supports a national abortion ban: Project 2025 advocates for a national abortion ban and the creation of a national monitor to oversee abortions and miscarriages.
- During a debate with Vice President Kamala Harris, Trump refused to commit to vetoing a national abortion ban if Congress were to pass one. In contrast, Vice President Harris pledged to restore the rights protected under Roe v. Wade for both women and fetuses.
- At times, Trump has stated that he does not support any exceptions in abortion bans.
Please ask yourself the following questions:
- If your wife, daughter, or granddaughter were raped—a violent and traumatic act—would you want her to be forced to carry that child to term?
- Would you want the doctor who performs an abortion in such a case to be jailed and have their medical license revoked?
- Would you support a national abortion monitor reviewing your or your female family member’s medical records to determine if they had an abortion or even experienced a miscarriage?
- Do you want the government, rather than you, deciding your medical issues?
- Do you believe Donald Trump or any politician has the right to tell you that you cannot have an abortion, even in the case of violent rape?
- Should the government be allowed to interfere with private medical decisions in your doctor’s office?
- Do you think unelected judges, not accountable to voters, should determine whether women have the right to choose?
Donald Trump and his far-right allies would answer all these questions with a resounding “YES.”
If you answer them with an equally strong “NO,” you must vote for Vice President Kamala Harris, who supports the right to abortion under the terms of Roe v. Wade and has pledged to sign legislation protecting those rights.
